Discover the Art of Jūjutsu

Find essential gear and guides to deepen your martial arts journey.

Jujutsu Basics

Where to get training gear? The internet is full of martial arts suppliers, some more reputable than others, all offering products of various quality. Here’s a simple guide.

Training Techniques

Where can one get DVDs that fully explain all of the techniques so I don’t have to spend the time actually training in the dōjō? If only it were that easy…. I have been asked to create training DVDs, but there is no way to replicate hands-on training. Watching someone else do it isn’t the same as the experiential ability gained from doing it yourself. We are actively developing a Matrix-style plug to download centuries of experience in mere moments. Check back for developments in our prototypes, but until we get approval from the FCC & OSHA, it’s just good old-fashioned training.

Philosophy

Understanding Samurai philosophy requires physical training which develops the mind and spirit, but some books offer wisdom that can help shine a light on the personal insights gained from training. These books are supplemental, but they can help jumpstart the quest for deeper understanding.

Training Breakdown

Explore our clear guidance on beginning your Jujutsu journey and fully embracing the discipline’s benefits.

Step One: Join a Class

Our Begining Level classes in the Introductory and Full Training plans are tailored to build foundational skills and confidence in Jūjutsu techniques. I’m not sure of a way to learn without joining a class, so this step is pretty obvious. Once you begin, Marvel Universe powers will easily be within your grasp!
(Yes, this flipant tone is necessary for people to know this website wasn’t created by AI Terminators trying to take over the world. Smart of you to realize that!).

Step Two: Practice Techniques

This is the part few instructors are clear about: these skills take a lot of time and hard work to master. The good part is that people who are right for this will find the training to be fun and engaging. Also the skills can be very useful in real situations far before you actually master them. Often times good enough is good enough, but we don’t revel in mediocrity. Get better!

Step Three: Embrace Philosophy

Many religions and philosophies admonish people to embody the qualities their system advocates, without providing an effective method of stengthening the spirit enough to actually follow a just path in life and not give in to the evils of fear, anger and hatred (and all the others). The warrior way builds the strength of spirit required to embody the higher characteristics aspired to by other religions and philosophies. You are not guaranteed to become the next Confucious, but you just may gain the insight to live a harmonious life: Priceless. (Yes that is a reference to the “meme before memes” for all you youngsters.)

Please enjoy some AI-generated content so you can see what this website might have been like without a human behind it. I have no idea who the people in the photos are, nor why these models were slected for a martial arts website. What’s the world coming to? Don’t let AI take over – Support human created content!

OK, that was pretty lame stuff. Some people who are easily offended will likely dislike much of what is written on this site, but I prefer that to using AI-generated pablum that primarily attempts to not offend anyone and attempts to include everyone with vague language. The reality is that if you try to stand for everything you will in fact stand for nothing. This dōjō stands for traditional American principles and Samurai martial traditions. Oh, and the value of a good sense of humor. Make Laughing Great Again!
