In addition we wear white soft-sole light weight martial arts style or “barefoot-style” shoes in training. In Japan, modern martial arts are often practiced barefoot, and traditional martial arts are practiced with tabi, which are cotton-soled moccasin-like socks, which would be worn with sandals when outside. America is a shoe-wearing culture and we do not normally remove shoes when entering a building. As such it makes more sense to wear shoes while training, but shoes need to have a soft sole so as to not be too painful for training partners to recieve techniques. See some examples below.

You are responsible for checking prices yourself, but this company has been a fast growing supplier of martial arts based in Colton, CA.
